Welcome to St John’s.

Our purpose as a church community is to love, worship and serve God. To this end we meet every Sunday at 10.30am and every Thursday at 11.30am.

On the first Sunday of the month we have a service of Holy Communion according to the Book of Common Prayer at 8.00am. This is a very quiet, reflective service.

Our main service on a Sunday is usually a service of Holy Communion, except for the first Sunday when we have a service which is less formal and in which children have a big part to play.

On the last Sunday of the month we incorporate the laying on of hands and prayers for healing, for those who wish it, into the service.

The service on Thursday is followed by lunch and everyone is very welcome to come and join in – and the food is very good!

Prayer is very important to the folk at St John’s and so we have a regular prayer breakfast, usually at 15 Woodside View, at 6.55am every Tuesday.

The last Tuesday of the month at 3.30pm is when our ‘Messy Church’ meets at the bungalow at Upperthong School. Children of all ages and their carers are warmly welcomed to attend.

As a community we enjoy singing, choral speaking and amateur dramatics, amongst other things and we hope that you will find that St John’s is a place where you can meet and make friends and enjoy worshipping God together. .
